Let's face it, we are living in stressful times right now. Everyone needs to remember that we're all on this big blue marble together. We are all going through much of the same conditions and even some of the same experiences. For some though, the past few months have been down right devastating. And now you have to move? Wow! Talk about anxiety, right? According to both Market Watch and the National Association of Realtors, right now the sale of homes in the United States are on the rise. Even YOU may be contemplating a relocation of your own. But let's try to de-stress the event for you a little bit by considering the following. ![]() The average person moves approximately 12 times in their lifetime. At age 18, a person can expect to move another 9 times in their remaining life. And at the age of 45, you can still expect another 3 moves before you pass away. That's a lot of moves! I myself, have move 19 times total so far in my lifetime. When I think about it... I think, "That's nuts!" So, what's my point? My point is, that no matter what the road block is that is now forcing you to move, you having to relocate was bound to happen sooner or later. Statistics say so! So, don't sweat it! Like the old children's Christmas song says, "Just put one foot in front of the other... and soon you'll be walking across the floor." Dealing with obstacles requires you to meet them head-on and take small steps every day in order to work through the obstacle. While growing up outside of Cleveland, OH, my father used to life-coach us by saying, "It's not what happens to you in life... it's how you deal with it." And boy, he was right. How does that mind-set help you today? Hopefully by giving you the tools you need to tackle your upcoming move with less trepidation, and hopefully less anxiety. Sure, moving is a big deal. It ranks right up there on the stress meter with dying and public speaking. But tackling your problem head-on will empower you to be confident and to persevere in everything you do. Here at the Moving Families Initiative® we are dedicated to helping you and your family get through your relocation, from listing your home or property, to many other services needed during a typical move. ![]() Raising a child in today's world is already a tremendously difficult job. When the thought of the family being thrust into moving or relocating, a parent can quickly feel overwhelmed. And when you are a single parent, the entire ordeal can seem insurmountable. I have a younger sister who is a single parent. She has single-handedly raised her son from birth all the way through to him moving out of the house and being on his own. It hasn't been easy for my sister but she made the necessary sacrifices to provide her son with what he needed at the time. Having an organization come in and lend a helping hand to her as a single parent would have been a God-send. At the Moving Families Initiative and the Moving Families Foundation we understand what it's like to be a single parent saddled with the enormous responsibility of providing a home and caring for your children on your own. You just want the best for your family, and although we assist all parents, we want to specifically help single parents. That's why MovingFamiliesInitiative.com offers specialized help for families caught up in a move. It's a connectivity platform that streamlines the entire moving process for anyone and everyone that is planning (or are forced) into a transition and change that involves relocating your family. And if you are a single parent, our foundation (the Moving Families Foundation™) has assistance tailored specifically to help you out. So, in addition to extracurricular activity scholarships and college scholarships for your children and teens, the foundation also offers assistance for the single parent themselves. So, if you or someone you know is a single parent that is going through a move, direct them to MovingFamiliesInitiative.com to get the ball rolling. This year is going to be even more of a challenge for school children, especially in states that are still on lockdown due to Covid-19. As a matter of fact, children in some states may not be heading back to their traditional brick-and-mortar class rooms at all. Many children will have to continue their studies at home. Regardless of whether your children are going back to a physical building or studying their lessons at home, these bright minds are our country's most precious resource. And their health and well-being are one of our top priorities here at the Moving Families Foundation™. So, how can we help? Well, if you and your children are moving, whether it's across town, across country or around the world, we are here to assist your entire family via a one-stop process. Help from the Moving Families Foundation is for anyone and everyone that is going through a move. How? First of all, we acknowledge that not all students are going to able to participate in their normal extracurricular activities due to continued fears over Covid-19. However, there will come a time when your child will be able to safely return to their activity, and if they do so after a move, we will be there to help in the form of extracurricular activity scholarships. One of our aims at the Moving Families Foundation is that after a move, we want to get every child who qualifies, back into the extracurricular activity of their choice... and the Foundation will cover the cost of their participation fees via the Moving Families Extracurricular Activities Scholarship Plan. We feel that extracurricular activities helps a child to better acclimate back into their new community. It helps a child to meet other children of similar age and interests. Another one of our aims at the Moving Families Foundation is to provide high school students access to high quality education opportunities during periods of transition and change in their lives. Every child who is going through a move during their high school years is eligible for one of our college scholarships. Yep, it's that simple. The qualification process actually begins the moment a child has completed the eighth grade. So, if you and your family are considering a move, there are a number of ways to benefit from what we have to offer. Get the process started right now by going to MovingFamiliesFoundation.org (or click the green "Get Started" button below). Complete the application and one of our trusted real estate advisors will contact you to assist you with all of your relocation needs. In the meantime, have a safe and pleasant 20-21 school year. - Rich Fields Follow Us On Social Media Blog Archives:During my time working in Hollywood, I amassed a tremendous collection of television, radio and movie memorabilia. It really is more than one man can enjoy in his home. So, I have decided to start (selectively) piecing out the collection and donating certain items to the Moving Families Foundation™ for, what we all hope will be, a regular fund-raising eBay auction. The first Moving Families Foundation eBay auction (starting Friday 7/8 @ 12 noon eastern) will run for ten days and feature three, one-of-a-kind items straight from the set of The Price Is Right. Bob Barker's Price Is Right Studio Sweater
Rod Roddy's Sparkly Jacket, Tie and Silk Shirt
Bob Barker Autographed Price Is Right Board GameDuring my time at The Price Is Right I was forever asking Mr. Barker to autograph something for me. In this case it's a brand new copy of the New 2nd Edition Price Is Right Board Game. Not only will you see Mr. Barker's beautifully flowing autograph (in black Sharpie) on the front of the box, but inside the game-box is a Check Game check that is ALSO autographed by Bob (in black Sharpie). When I took the check out of the box to have Mr. Barker sign it, Bob quipped, "Well... that's a great idea! My signature should have been on these checks from the get-go." The winning bidder is really getting two Bob Barker autographs with this one small item (keep one autographed item, gift the other to someone else). It's a collector's dream! So when, where and how can you bid on these museum-quality Price Is Right items? Well, the Moving Families Foundation's first eBay fund-raising auction will start on Friday (7/8/20) at 12 noon eastern and will last ten days. Starting bids on all items will be $1 and there are no reserved bids. Everything will be sold, regardless of the final bid. But please be generous... this IS for charity. :) Go to Ebay.com and search for the Moving Families Foundation's Ebay site, or just click the button below to be redirected there now. I thank you for your interest and look forward to seeing YOUR name as one of the bidders on these three TPIR related items. - Rich Fields Follow Us On Social Media Blog Archives:![]() I have had a blessed life with a long and successful broadcasting career. And I had often thought my tenure of working with both Bob Barker and Drew Carey on The Price Is Right was going to be the highlight of that career. Heck, I've even won an Emmy Award for my work in television news. What more could anyone want? Well, after meeting and listening to the folks at the Moving Families Initiative® and the Moving Families Foundation®, I found out that by working through them, I could actually have a profoundly positive impact on the lives of millions of families who are in the middle of a transition or change in their lives. And... I could especially have a tremendous impact on the lives of young children. Positively impacting the lives of our youth is something that I am very passionate about. And the good that will come from this new endeavor of mine with MFI and MFF will far out-weigh anything that I could have ever done during my career in Hollywood. That's why I've gotten involved with the Moving Families Initiative. I know a lot about moving too. I have moved many more times than the average person on the planet. For instance, I had moved four times by the age of sixteen and ten times by the age of twenty-five. In total, I have moved nineteen times in my lifetime. I know what it's like to be uprooted and saddled with the task of changing towns, schools, jobs, and friends. It's not easy! So, when I learned that the Moving Families Initiative and the Moving Families Foundation had a special love for children ages nineteen and younger who are struggling with moving, I knew that I had to get involved. MovingFamiliesInitiative.com is a connectivity platform designed to assist anyone and everyone who is going through a move. A major part of MFI's focus is placed on assisting children ages 19 and younger in dealing with the physical and emotional challenges of changing neighborhoods, schools and friends when they are caught up in a move. The Moving Families Initiative's aim is to provide families access to the following when they have to move or relocate:
MovingFamiliesInitiative.com is also the gateway to help from the Moving Families Foundation. The foundation is a 501c3 non-profit that focusses on assisting children ages nineteen and younger who are struggling through a move. A move could come about due to a parental split. Maybe Mom or Dad got a new job in another city. Maybe you are forced to move due to economic circumstances. It doesn't matter. Anyone going through a move can apply for assistance. One of the core principals that the Moving Families Foundation believes in is getting young children back into the extracurricular activity of their choice, once they've relocated to their new home. Getting a youngster back into their preferred activity helps them to meet new friends their age, who have the same interests. So, the Moving Families Foundation offers extracurricular activities scholarships to help pay for those extracurricular fees or dues. There are also college scholarships available for any teenager going through a move during their high school years. There are a number of ways that the Moving Families Initiative and the Moving Families Foundation can help a family that is on the move. So, if you or someone you know has to move or relocate, direct them to MovingFamiliesInitiative.com. Once there, click the "contact me" button in the navigation bar at the top of that page.
