Extracurricular Activities
Participating in extracurricular activities as young children teaches values, life skills and builds character. It also provides children with an opportunity to create new friendships in a natural free flowing way, especially when they move or relocate to a new school or community.
One of our aims with the Moving Families Initiative® is for all children ages 19 and younger to participate in an extracurricular activity of their choice. Which activity to choose is completely up to you and your child; what's most important is participation!

- In support of one of the Initiative’s four goals, assisting children to become more active in an extracurricular activity of their choice when they move, a Moving Families Initiative Extracurricular Activities Scholarship Plan is currently in the creation and funding stage.
- The intent of the Plan is to help cover children’s participation fees when they move or relocate to a new school, neighborhood or community, whether they’re moving across town or across the country.
